The ancient benedictine abbey of Saint Riquier, founded in the first half of the 7th century AD and today the property of the department, has housed since 2012 a Centre Culturel de Rencontre devoted to writing and books.
It thus renews with its pretigious past - from 790 AD to 1131 AD, it was a prime centre for culture in western Europe - the Saint Riquier Abbey is an ideal location to foster artistic creativity and intellectual exchanges, to diffuse knowledge and that is open to an international stage. All disciplines involved share a common annual theme that guides the Centre's programming.
